Plan to be Happy!

PLAN TO BE HAPPY - sounds contrived? Keep reading, its science….

This Mini Blog is courtesy of Lydia from The Body Project - she posted this recently on her FB page, I loved what she had to say and asked if she would be happy for me to re-post it as a guest mini blog... thank you Lydia, much appreciated

What determines your happiness? Most people would probably answer “circumstances” understandably. If you dislike your job, or lose someone you love it can hugely impact your happiness so this is a completely logical and has got to be the correct answer right? WRONG.

Happiness is determined by 3 main factors - 50% genetics, only 10% circumstances and….. 40% intentional behaviour or choice. We cannot influence our genetics, we can in some cases change our circumstances but GREAT NEWS - we can always change our behaviour and choices!

AND Happier people live longer, suffer few health problems and maintain better relationships so seriously, why would you not try?

Everyone’s situation is different but research suggests these 10 things depicted on the info graphics consistently tend to have a positive impact on people’s happiness and wellbeing… take a look and see how many you are doing and how much more you could do to take control and increase your happiness ??

Lydia is a fitness instructor based in Rossendale Valley whose mission is to break down barriers to exercise - be that the limited time you have avaiable, childcare, body image, lack of confidence and more.  She is one of the most positive people I've met, with a great attitude to life.  I love the strength, empowerment and support she brings to her sessions.  If you want to know more, check out her FB page or even better get along to one of her sessions (The Strong Mammas Club on Wednesday and Thursday evenings in Rawtenstall is amazing!) - you won't regret it.
